Since 2009, we have provided programmes specifically for the New Senior Secondary (NSS) curriculum in the four Language Arts Module: Drama, Short Stories, Poetry and Songs, Pop Culture plus Social Issues in the Non-Language Arts.
For Junior secondary schools, we take a step-by-step learning approach where in two terms we teach textual analysis of drama features through theatre games and movement and voice training. We also teach the same things through devising theatre where students first act and then write their own scripts and act in them. All teaching end in a performance and are either tied to school-based learning or the NSS concept of embedding language learning in drama.
We also teach creative writing, communications and speech and poetry which can also be used for training for the Trinity Guildhall Examinations. For the HK Schools Speech Festival, we offer tailor made courses for choral speaking and drama. We also provide directing, scripting and backstage back up.
English Enhancement Curriculum Bridging Programmes
To help make the transition from P6 to Form 1 and Form 2 to 3, we tailor make courses to boost writing and communication skills in the classroom and interactive drama workshops to improve spoken English Skills.
Other Learning Experiences
We plan with schools to take their students out of the classroom for the day to try new experiences. Most popular in our repertoire is A Day in the Theatre where students learn a bit about everything in the theatre from acting and directing to design and backstage work, all in English too. (Cantonese is also available)
Teacher Professional Development
Our series of workshops can help with curriculum development as well as provide co-teaching, co-planning and guidance in assessment in the courses above.
